Heh

You really need to practice drawing tall buildings like that, if you wish to continue having it in your movies. The only positive i found was that it was slightly blurred, making the scene look a bit foggy. That's a small plus in my book. You're very good at animating clock, though. They were still pretty basic, and the boobies on gemclock (or emeraldclock, or whatever his/her name is), was pretty much okay. You could've uh... shaded them, but it was nice anyway (why the hell am i rating boobs?)

I could instantly tell that the speech was from Kill Bill (The first), so that was nothing you produced yourself. Though the sound quality was great! As was the theme song at the end.
The only violence there was had to be the decapitated clock (whoever that was), and it was of average quality. Just a little less dripping :)

If anyone thought this movie was fun, it was beacuse the scene has been clockified. It's always fun to see familiar clocks playing a role in a famous movie. Also, their facial expression when she revealed the cut off head, added a small percentage to the humour score.

But in overall, this was a nice short, inspired by one great movie. Keep at it!

Woah, this is like the longest and most detailed review I've ever had!
I agree with most of your review, the movie was made in less than two days, so It wasn't my best. ( particularly the backgrounds ) Thanks for the fair review.

Oh and by the way, the clock with the boobs (or boobrez) was rupee, and the decapitated clock head was me, deadmouseclock.

Gah.

This is not exactly what i would call a good toon. I did like the graphics somewhat, though, even if you just drew it from another picture. It had darker outlines with a bit brighter fillings, so i'll give you a few extra points there. But otherwise there was really nothing to hang in the christmas tree. It was mostly tweens, except for the ''black'' guy, whose voice was taken from some tv/radio show, whose mouth moved between two frames.

The sound quality was O.K, but since you just got it from another person, there was very little effort put into it, especially since there was no lip-syncing at all. And we all get that the person who talked was black, so why couldn't you have made him black? Couldn't find a picture that was suitable enough? Bah.

And making the object he was talking about just appear in the way it did, was not funny. It didn't contribute to anything, except a few additional points to the effort bar, since you drew more than two things.

You need to practice some more on your drawing abillities, and start making characters of your own. And do try harder on the lyp-syncing next time. As it is now, won't do.

Hey i Made the guy white and the black guy talk so its kind of anti racist since it dosnt matter so if i had a mix of a black mans voice and white man animation then i could see it as not white power or racist!

K.

This was quite decent, the main (and only) character was well animated, with only slightly to thick black outline. And it didn't seem as you put any ral effort into making her look perfect, either. She had a little colour here and there, but i wonder if you made her goth only to be obligated to use two colours. Beacuse this flash mainly had two colours, and that was black and white. And since you didn't have to paint anything white, you therefore only used one colour. Also i'd wish that you had used a background, beacuse that is one thing that makes a flash look bigger and better produced. And with only a white background, there was only the girl that you could rest your eyes on. And that's really not enough.

But at least you put effort enough to make your own voices, and lip-sync, too. If you're a guy, then you can imitate a female voice very good. If you're a girl, then you sound too much of a 12 year old male. And since the only sound were the voices, there weren't too much other things to listen to. It would be a lot better if you used some background music, but with low volume, beacuse you don't want it to be louder than the voices.

And there was no real storyline, only a goth girl who rambled about how fun it is to own her own land, and how evil she was. And that Michael Jackson joke about snakes wasn't funny. Also, if she boasted about her land, then i'd love to see it's landscape.

I hope you take my ideas and suggestions into your consideration. Beacuse from what i can see, you do seem to have a animating talent buried in you. Keep working!

NOT A GIRL!!!

It seems to me...

That youdon't use Speakonia that much in your movies. Which makes you different, if not better, than the average Clock animator. The graphics in this one is nothing to cheer for, it's not like Nocturne or Unearthly, that had much better graphics. But this one is still quite decent. except for the landscaping, that was very unique, and really pleases your eyes :)

And i don't get where to find monolouges like that. I listen a lot to ambient Pod stations, and many of the songs there have some quotes used in the song itself, without any particular melody. And so are the one used in this movie, and that's why i personally like this more than the average clock short with a decent sense of humour. And this speech is also very different, as it came from a cheerful muscleman, that has gotten bored of most thing in life (omg odd similaritie), judging by the tone of his voice. Lol. But seriously, it made me smile when he got to the ''fuck them'' part.

If you can find longer and more ongoing speeches, then i'd really be looking forward to more animations like this one. Beacuse i just like it that way.

For the record, I enjoy reading your reviews, they are very helpful to me and I think you for taking the time to write such detailed reviews.

I'd have to agree with you about the graphics. This movie was made in less than 48 hours, so I rushed a lot of it. I had found that clip and I was inspired to make a quick and sloppy movie, nothing more (unlike Nocturne and Unearthly).

I did enjoy making a movie using human dialogue, and I just may do that again. Keep your eyes open.

Very... classical

Not only beacuse of the music and ambience, but also beacuse you only used subtitles and no voices. And i also have to critisize the quality of the subtitles. First off, in the beginning, the subtitles were pretty cool, i have to admit. Though it was very hard to read. I couldn't read all of the words, and when i'm writing this, i have no memory of what it meant. And later on, you had a classic font, which would've been great, if you could read with any difficulties. Most authors solve this by add in a one-coloured box behind the subtitles in order to make it easier to read. But you forgot that. Not to worry, i still enjoy this movie, for the animation quallity was of very high standards. It really looked as if someone painted it all with a brush (which i bet also was the tool you used, hehe), and it makes it look even more classic. You did a nice job shading objects, and really overall you did a very good job.

The only sound that could be heard was the piano solo, which added to the classical ambience. Though i thought the sng itself weren't that great, nor was the quality. So it was neither quantity or quality here, and i hope you understand.

Shooting someone in the head is something very brutal and gorish, though the blood effects itself were sloppy made, and not at all as much blood as i'd want it to be :) Blood in the cup was pretty decent howerver. Still, neither quantity or quality here, either.

And i'm pretty sure i speak for many viewers when i say that i didn't get the plot of this story. And if you have explained it earlier to other reviewers, then you'd have to do it again, since i'm no mood of browsing through reviews.

But in all, i find this movie very worthy of it's score. One of the finest clock movies i've seen, and i wouldn't complain if you decide to pull more works like this out of your ass :)

Silvercherryclock responds:

Thank you for the detailed and constructive review. I appreciate it.

I realize that I did a below par job on the subtitles, but I wasn't soo concerned with them, as long as they were readable. Maybe I should have been. I'm regretting that.
Thanks for your compliment on my art and animation. Yes, much of this movie was done with the paint tool (all of the characters as well as some scenery). I'm glad you noticed.

I understand what you mean on the music. Music loses some of it's quality when being exported from flash, and it's not like everyone watching this movie would like the song. Personally, I think Nocturne is a great paino solo, but I respect your opinion.

For the record, Albino (the name of the beast) shot himself in the head because he had grown sick of living life as a hideous monster. My blood effects have never been very good (I have yet to master blood effects :\), so I understand your criticism.

I'm glad you liked my movie. I do plan to make many more in this style. I enjoy making movies like this
.

Even better than the original!

Though the only thing that the original has that this doesn't is a mystic plot. It makes you ask questions, though none of the will be answered, but it'll open up a discussion that will never end.

However, i find this one better. But i reckon that it is beacuse you see familiar faces getting bullying others that weren't in the series until this flash. Except for the gangsta teleporter, of course, he went on mocking the ''normal'' characters.

And the animation was great, it was really portraitlike. At first i expected some cut out characters that you didn't draw yourself, but as you turned Jeremy into a real homie, and Salad to a drug addict (i believe), it turned out you stood for a majority of the animations. Heh, i've tried to do some fanart of Salad fingers, but it has always ended up trash, so i know it's hard, so you get very high score for that. One thing i did notice though was that the other ''normal'' characters were a bit sloppy drawn, with only black and white colours. But i don't realy care, beacuse it works!

Excellent sound quality and voice acting. And when the two policemen arrived, It really was the only two characters that didn't have any real human voices in the series. Apart from Jeremy, of course. You did a great job, though i didn't get it when the milkman shouted: ''BOYAAAH''. Glad you ended it somehow, anyway :)

You make the gore and violence just as good as Firth himself, and i'm really impressed. Blood splattering everywhere when the policemen so brutally where killed, i like that. Poor thing to, the guy who got killed by some Pokémons :)

And the plot. That is the number one thing in this flash. You copied the street laungage perfectly, at least as far as i know. And i'm really a big fan of comedy where people with common sense meets a majority of people without any common sense at all. And it usually ends up bad for the minority of normal people. But it makes you laugh. ''Hold on to my hands'' _ ''You...Don't...even...have...any...''
Pure gold, really. Fantastic. Keep it up!

rtil responds:

this is quite the well-rounded review.
i know that the two pallid fingers are so much different, but i'm glad you prefer this one. I spent a lot more time and thought on it. Scribblyhead and Oddface were both drawn in under half a minute, and the way they turned out - although sloppy - could not be reproduced, I discovered. So I kept using them and somehow they fit into the flash like you said.
I did draw all the Firth characters myself, which was hard to accomplish because his style of drawing and mine differ completely. But with a little bit of my own flavor (like making Jeremy a gangster) it worked out as well.
Glad you approve of the sound quality. This flash was originally 15MB in its 1st complete draft, I had to do a lot of greuling compression to get this down even to where it is now. When the cop says "booyah", I just wanted to make him seem like a jerk so he was rubbing it in Salad Fingers' face. I recorded it once, kept it as was, and decided the only proper resolution was a tap falling from the sky. It's probably the most confusing part of the episode for everyone, but like you said it just opens up questions, and it would be silly to take Pallid Fingers seriously.
And I'm glad you ended with the plot and the comedy, which were two things I focused on a lot due to the length, and of course to make sure everyone was entertained. The way this developed was something I would never imagine, adding a gangster/street life tone to a world such as Firth's, but it seems it was a success. I'm happy you enjoyed this and I thank you a lot for the thoughtful review, it means a lot to me. =)

Gotta love Newgrounds Parodies.

Especially the awesome ones. Fantasticly animated, you drew Wade portraitlike. Don't know what his kids look like, but i bet they are a lot fatter >:) But in overall the scenery was very well animated, with lots of details. It didn't deserve a ten, beacuse then it would have to contain lots and lots more stuff than just motion tweens. It got an eight, basicly beacuse it didn't have any flaws or misses whatsoever. You did nothing wrong.

It was great voice acting, giving Wade that badass tone in his voice. Could've done with a longer dialouge between him and his son, and a longer monolouge when he spotted the SS Collection Petition thread. Just beacuse i'm a fan of long ongoing monolouges that doesn't lead anywhere. But that's just me. And a great song that finished this movie, that was great. It missed some sound effects, and all the ones that was there weren't that cool enough to get a full ten. But it's awesome as it is.

Violence? His kid got stung, and started bleeding! OMG! Yeah, well, it doesn't matter. The blood and gore that existed was well done, so it won't recieve a low score beacuse of it.

And you have to give the humour high score beacuse of the ''Oh Snap'' that is so classic. But as i said, it could've done with longer lines. And the thing with Wade getting pissed wasn't all that entertaining. Though when he said that the users would suck his dick for 12 pages was, indeed fun.

Fantastic work however. It was a nice surprise, beacuse i didn't really expect you to make a flash this awesome. Keep at it.

thanks sir, you are awesome

great review because this will actually help me make better flashes in the future

Gold.

I knew you were capable of pulling out terrific flash movies out of your butt, though i never thought it would turn out this awesome! All of the drawings were awesome, and i really liked it how all the things twitched, which raises the artistic score of this flash. The drawings that this movie was all about wasn't that great, but that didn't matter, beacuse this movie was one of those carrying out a message. Though i don't know if there's supposed to be a moral of this story. I did see the message at the end, but i still didn't quite get it. But it's obvious that you put a lot of heart in this movie, and was it all beacuse of that quote? I'm glad you did it anyway, beaucse this flash completely rocks. I also enjoyed how the mansion was drawn, very artistic.

That song really kicked the viewer in a proper mood. You feel sorry for the one drawing flower, and hate for the emo kid, drawing bunnies, even though a somewhat clear mind would say that it was nobodies fault, since the man who drew flowers easily could find another way to make a living. And the music was also the only source of sound in this flash, but it was all that was needed to recieve my ten.

The violence had it's first appearence in the end, where the flowerman got burned, and the bunnyman got his arms mashed, that lead to a paimful death, to both of them. And i really wonder if fanboys would go that far in real life, if someone taunted their fauvorite author. No, but that wouldn't make this flash as interesting if they didn't. questioning things suck.

And that's about it. This is a fantastic flash, and i wouldn't doubt seeing this once or twice more. It's a flash based not only on artistic talent, but also on a gift of a terrific storyline, that really stirred up amongst the viewers emotions. A fantastic work, and i'd love it if i saw more submissions like this. Pure Gold.

wooo what a long review thanks!

That was awesome! I really liked it when you sweeped over the room and spotted several familiar clocks, including you. I haven't seen many flashes by you, so this was the first time i've actually seen SamFischer in a clockmovie. Also, should Insulinpump have a clock by now? or is he like that? It's all great, anyway. All of the characters and backgrounds were drawn with expertise. Exept for the drawing on the piece of paper :)

You used standard Clock voices, with non faulty quality, that normally gets a five, but since the music was so great, and the fact that it got lowered when Strawberry left the room was also a thing i really liked. A seven for that.

Not much violence, exept for the time when Strawberry smacked Turd, and when you hit the batteries out of Strawberrys hand. Even though this is a comedy flash, i want blood. Like a nosebleed, or anything. You have the power to add gore to the flash, then do it :)

Interactivity - None, but then we have the humour. it's rally great, though i expected a finishline from Strawberry to be like ''Free beers for everyone!''. Well, this ending was better than i thought, but not enough to make me laugh. But watching the whole movie made me smile. not beacuse the humour was great, it was actually not that amazing, but beacuse it had a christmas theme, and that always makes me smile :)

Cheers, dude.

Thank you very much kind sir :)

Merry Christmas

HAHAHAHA!

Uh... ha.

Well, at least mario's good at stomping. And jumping. And all that shizzle. Was this supposed to be some sort of Battle thingie, where mario faced various famous sprite characters, only to defeat them all one after one? It also looked like it would be alot tougher to beat Sonic than it was to beat Samus. I bet it would've been great. IF YOU'D FINISH IT. yer lazy bum. Now all i have left is imagination.

I know you're a SoaD groupie, Bahamut, too. So, i don't complain on your choice of song. Though i'm no rock fan. But i won't let that interfere with the scores, as ones taste shouldn't play any role in this. The song had good quality, nuff said. But no sound effects whatsoever, which makes me a sad panda ;(

And i just laugh as the spinning Sonic left lots of newbies staring at the screen for to many minutes :)

B for quality, F for effort.
